In June, all consoles and handhelds saw increases in sales, especially all Sony platforms including PS3, PS2, and PSP, with the exception of Wii which still outsold the competition but did see a tiny drop of just over a percent. In July, all console sales dropped off, though Wii still outsold PS3 by more than two-to-one and the latter saw the biggest decline in hardware sales of the bunch.

Wow, PS3 sales really dropped. It is funny because the PS3 fanboys have long expected PS3 sales to skyrocket after MGS4 gets here. It is now here and sales fell sharply.
