I'm not sure how to feel about this, considering it isn't helping with Nintendo's "kiddie" image, but this appears to be a new franchise from Nintendo, although a bizarre one that might be interesting.
A lot of people think so, and the latest information supports that.

This sort of thing is classic Nintendo style and that's done them well for all these years. Nintendo's kiddie franchises account for the best-selling games and best-selling franchises of all time and have taken countless awards over the years, including the kiddie Super Mario Galaxy being last year's Game of the Year according to the majority of gaming publications. If people don't like it they can play something else.

Well said, Sam. I believe you've nailed it. There's a broad range of games for a broad range of gamers, and there's definitely a market for this. If someone isn't personally interested, that's fine, but there are people that would enjoy this sort of game, and if they do then more power to them.
